Abstract: This was conceived and written during the week of August 17-22 at Ox-Bow, Saugatuck, Michigan. When I first arrived in Chicago, I couldn’t wait to break in my new hiking shoes or canoe in the lagoon. My inner Nature Girl was bursting to get out. Then the mosquitoes attacked, I got sunburned and toppled out of the canoe. Urban Girl had resurfaced and I wasn’t happy. The fight was on.

Junk Drawer: Indirect Objects

Abstract: From the introduction: This zine is about objects. Things that surround us. Material Stuff we have found, and that has found a way into surroundings, one way or another. Objects define who we are. We also use ojects to define our image, whether real or imagined. Then there is junk, like that I’m trying to get rid of, but can’t seem to part with. The stuff itself is not really what’s important. The objects represent something, like memories. Objects are reflections, or outlines of ourselves or of our desires, or possibilities of what could be, or what we could be.

Abstract: A new look for Foul, this one was created entirely on a good old fashioned typewriter. Brandon breaks it all down, telling us about what his life is like these days. It opens up with two funny stories about his friend Brian (one titled “I love Brian Nix”, the other titled “I hate Brian Nix”), then goes into some lists of shocking pop culture events. Also a story about his girlfriend getting food poisoning, and a few other items. Funny, cynical, real, and down to earth. Half size, 12 pages.
